and once he enters the kitchen, all is clear. pausing, shou responds to the boop with an absent lift of his hand, placing it instead on fushi's head, right between his ears. ]
(ok, he understands. or he so thinks he does. why would he have to return to this place, however? he doesn't have to... does he? he enjoys it, it feels a little different. shou's scent is everywhere, unlike anything else he ever sniffed, and he knows he could smell it forever.
nevermind the tail smacking on shou's side, way too strongly, as he looks at his own work. he's seen dogs do that when they're happy, so now, he can't drop the habit.)

(a small tornado surrounds him, and he turns into a boy. the first time shou's seen it knowingly, and he points to the mess he's made as to highlight the terrible wonders atop of the counter.)
